Plant Metamorphosis As A Living Idea
Through exploratory drawing/observation and reflective meditation, we will work with Goethe's Theory of Metamorphosis by living into the plants, seeing with the heart and mind to discover organic rhythm, structure, vitality and the underlying organizing Life principle in nature and humans.
Tour of The Garden and Its Philosophy: Friday, September 8th, 6:00-7:30 p.m.- This is free, but you must register to attend as there is a maximum number of people that can be accommodated. Preference will be given to workshop participants, who are strongly urged to attend this evening.
Workshop: Saturday, September 8th, 9:00-4:00
No drawing experience is necessary, though experienced artists will find challenge and new ways to expand their work. Some supplies will be provided, others will be brought by participants. Lunch (bring your own) break and an afternoon snack (provided).
Fee: 125.00, including some materials. Deposit required.
Finding Our Place Between The Cosmos and Earth: Biodynamics and The Elemental Beings
Saturday, September 16th, 1:00-4:30 An introduction to Biodynamics and its relation to gardening, agriculture and the contemporary world. What are Elemental Beings of nature and how do we experience them? This class will give an overview of Biodynamic Agriculture, its founder, Rudolf Steiner, and the Biodynamic preparations: how they are used and what their effects are upon the natural world and the humans who work with these remedies. There will be a discussion and reflective meditation around the elemental nature beings, and a hands-on stirring and application of a BD preparation.
